Traffic Planning and Design, Inc. (TPD) was selected by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) to design the rehabilitation for the Limekiln Pike Bridge, located on the border of Montgomery and Horsham Townships, which carries S.R. 0152 over Little Neshaminy Creek. Limekiln Pike is a Community Arterial that carries over 9,500 vehicles per day, as of 201), with projections for growth to almost 11,500 vehicles per day  in 2030. This stone masonry arch structure, which was originally constructed in 1838, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, but due to its previously deteriorated condition, a reduced weight limit was enforced. TPD’s design eliminated the weight limit restrictions by restoring the structural integrity of the bridge while also minimizing impact to the historic significance of the bridge.

The Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia named this project the 2013 winner of their Grand Jury Award.

A Grand Jury of preservation professionals chooses award winners based on these criteria:

* The quality of the work or the outcomes of the activity
* The need that was met
* How the project or activity increased awareness of historic preservation
* Impact on neighborhood revitalization
* How children/adults/community/residents/visitors benefited
